CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's basketball team will look to continue their 15-game winning streak when it matters the most, as they will host the UNBC Timberwolves in a best-of-three Canada West quarter-final.
All games will be at the Jack Simpson Gym, with tip scheduled for 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday if a third game is necessary.
TEAM EFFORT
While the Dinos do not have a player ranked inside the top 10 in Canada West scoring, what they do have might be even better. Calgary has six different players averaging over 8.0 points per game, allowing them to throw a balanced scoring attack at opponents on a nightly basis. The Dinos' deep bench also allows them to keep everyone rested, which often leads to them overwhelming the other team late in games because of their fresh legs.
FULL-COURT ATTACK
A key characteristic to this Dinos team is their use of a menacing full-court press. Calgary gives the opposition no rest, as they use their deep bench and conditioning to their full advantage, pressing the opponent after every made basket. The press has led to the Dinos leading Canada West in steals at 14.6 steals per game, 4.7 steals ahead of the next closest team.
Sascha Lichtenwald,
Katie Upham, and
Erin McIntosh lead the way for the Dinos, as they all average over 2.0 steals per game.

Dinos Head Coach
Damian Jennings, on how his team used the bye week prepare for UNBC:
"The last 12 days have been very productive for us – both focusing on our play and UNBC. A mix of film, practice, and scrimmages have us read to go, and looking forward to see how we perform.
"[UNBC] are particularly dangerous in the half-court offensively, and we are certainly going to have our work cut out defending their action and multiple all-star level individual talent."
