Neumann's NotesCALGARY – The Calgary Flames hosted the 2019 Vanier Cup champion University of Calgary Dinos football team Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Scotiabank Saddledome prior to their game against the Ottawa Senators.

The Dinos were introduced on the ice prior to the singing of O Canada by Flames anthem singer George Canyon and the start of the game along with the Vanier Cup, Mitchell Bowl, and Hardy Cup trophies.

During the first intermission senior quarterback Adam Sinagra, winner of the Ted Morris Memorial Trophy as MVP in the championship game, and senior receiver Hunter Karl were interviewed by Brendan Parker which was shown on the videoboard at center ice.

The Flames have been supportive the entire year. General Manager Brad Treliving, a former high school quarterback, attended a football practice on a frigid evening during the team's playoff run.

"Having the support of the Calgary Flames, and their Foundation, is integral to the success of our Dinos teams and student-athletes," said Athletic Director Jason Kerswill. "Their on-going commitment to the Dinos helps us to attract the best and brightest student-athletes to Calgary and it is this commitment that allows us to achieve success on a national stage. A huge thanks to the Flames for their support and providing the opportunity to celebrate the return of the Vanier to Calgary with their passionate fan base."
