Spartans up next for No. 4 Dinos

| By:
CALGARY – After sweeping the Brandon Bobcats last weekend in the Jack, the University of Calgary Dinos will be back in action at home this weekend as they host the Trinity Western Spartans.

The Dinos will square off against the Spartans on both Friday Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.

FLASHBACK
The Dinos took on the Brandon Bobcats last weekend in their home opener at Jack Simpson Gym. In Game 1, the Dinos took control through the final three quarters to smother the Bobcats and come away with a 30-point win. Leading the Dinos in game one was the duo of Brett Layton, who posted 27 points and 21 boards, and Ezeoha Santiago, who offered up 23 points while shooting at 80 per cent from the field. Game 2, however, was a different story as the Dinos win came down to the dying seconds of the fourth quarter. Mason Foreman's steal and basket with three seconds left on the clock put the Dinos up 87-85 for the win.

UNDEFEATED
The Dinos, who currently sit fourth in the U SPORTS Top 10 ranking, look to continue their undefeated streak through the regular season. The Dinos last squared off against TWU during the 2017-18 season in Spartan territory where the Dinos came away with two comfortable wins. The Dinos haven't hosted the Spartans at Jack Simpson Gymnasium since the 2014-15 season where they swept TWU in two games.

QUOTABLE
After a close game against the Brandon Bobcats this past Sunday head coach Dan Vanhooren is confident in the way his team has been playing so far this season and the resilience they've shown early.

"We have nine new faces and we're 4-0 in this conference which isn't easy to do. The team is showing some resilience – we were down at UBC and came back and won and we were down against the Bobcats and came back."
