Martynas Sabaliauskas is returning to Europe after signing his first professional contract with Culture City Weimar in Germany.
The Vilnius, Lithuania native joined the Scarlet & Gold for the 2023-24 season and appeared in 63 career games across three seasons in Canada West. In his final campaign in 2025-26, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 16.3 minutes across 16 regular season games, shooting 44.1 per cent from the field. He posted a season-high 18 points in a Nov. 8 win over the Brandon Bobcats.
Sabaliauskas was named U SPORTS athlete of the week in January 2024 after averaging 30 points across a two-game weekend series against the Mount Royal Cougars. He went on to help the Dinos claim the Canada West title in 2024-25, taking down the UBC Thunderbirds before the program secured a silver medal at the U SPORTS Final 8 that same season.
Culture City Weimar competes in the 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProB, Germany's third tier of professional basketball.
