CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's soccer team will continue their Canada West playoff run this weekend in Edmonton for a Final Four matchup versus the MacEwan University Griffins.
The action is set to kick off on Friday, Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. Edmonton's Clarke Stadium will be the host for all four games during the final weekend.
BUILDING MOMENTUM
The Dinos were in tough against a surging Manitoba Bisons squad last weekend in the quarter finals.
Damiane Sawatzky took matters into her own hands in the 80th minute when she finished off a set piece fed in from
Amy Mikuska to give Calgary the 1-0 win, and a spot in the semifinals.
BACK FOR MORE
Not only will this be the second consecutive appearance in the Final Four for the Dinos but it also presents a chance to return to the national championship in Victoria later on this month. The gold and silver medalists from the weekend will be granted an automatic berth into the Championship tournament.

NOTES
- MacEwan edged out the Victoria Vikes last weekend in a tight 1-0 quarter-final.
- There should be no shortage of offence between the two sides as MacEwan sits in second place for goals scored and Calgary sits right behind them.
- The two teams did not see each other during the regular season but the last time they played in 2018, the Dinos came away 4-0 winners.
UP NEXT
The winner of the tilt will advance to the Canada West championship on Sunday against the winner of the other semifinal between Trinity Western and UBC. The two finalists will also book their tickets to Victoria for the U SPORTS championship.
