Playoff positioning on the line in Crowchild Classic series

| By:
CALGARY – For the third week in a row, the Dinos men's hockey team will play in a marquee game in front of a packed house – but this time, it's a home game.

After defeating Lethbridge Pronghorns at the ENMAX Centre in front of more than 1,600 fans, the Dinos headed to Vancouver where they spoiled UBC's Winter Classic with an overtime victory before nearly 6,000. Now, they get set for the annual Crowchild Classic at the Scotiabank Saddledome next Tuesday night, where more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold.

The series gets kicked off on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Flames Community Arenas, a preview of the annual Saddledome clash on Jan. 29 with a scheduled 6:45 p.m. puck drop.

Tickets for Tuesday's game are available but going fast HERE.

CROWCHILD CLASSIC
The second game of the series will mark the annual Crowchild Classic matchup at the Scotiabank Saddledome, where the Dinos have won three straight double-overtime thrillers. Last year, Cain Franson was the hero in a wild 6-5 finish. The Dinos and Cougars are currently battling to secure home ice advantage in the playoffs, with Calgary sitting in third place with 30 points, four ahead of the Cougars. MRU, meanwhile, is fending off a challenge from the UBC Thunderbirds (24 points). The top four teams will earn home ice advantage.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
The goaltending staff on both teams have been nothing short of spectacular during the season so far. For Mount Royal, rookie sensation Riley Morris is putting together a case for the top goaltender in the league posting a league leading 0.922 save percentage and sitting second in goals against. For Calgary it has been a team effort, recently coming off a record shutout streak and holding third in combined goals-against average.

PUTTING POINTS ON THE BOARD
The Dinos have been riding a recent hot streak, picking up points in their last five games. Over the streak, Calgary has outscored opponents 16-6 including a three-game span of consecutive shutouts.
