T-Birds up next at home

| By:
CALGARY – After a pair of nail-biting losses last weekend against the Lethbridge Pronghorns, the University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team get set for a weekend homestand against the UBC Thunderbirds.

The series gets started on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. followed by an afternoon matchup on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. Father David Bauer Arena will play host to both games. This marks the last two times these team will see each other as the regular season winds down.

SCORING TOUCH
Last weekend marked the second time this season where the Dinos found the net more than three times over a weekend series. Two late goals by the Pronghorns spoiled an impressive three goal performance from the Dinos on Friday night in Lethbridge with tallies coming from Delaney Frey, Carley Wlad, and a stunner from speedster Rachel Paul. The Dinos will look to carry that scoring into this weekend's matchup against the strong goaltending of UBC.

TOO MUCH HEARTBREAK
The Dinos have struggled on the scoreboard in 2018-19, but they certainly haven't been blown out. Calgary has been on the wrong end of 11 one-goal games in the regular season, with five of their last six decided by one tally. Most notably, a pair of performances against the Alberta Pandas and the Saskatchewan Huskies have shown promise for the future.

TUNDERBIRDS ARE SOARING
The Dinos have struggled against the Thunderbirds over the past couple seasons, a fortune that they will look to turn around this weekend. The last time Calgary topped the Birds came ten games ago when they took a 4-3 win home on Nov. 28, 2015.
