Offence looks for spark against 'Horns

| By:
CALGARY – Coming off a sweep at the hands of the Saskatchewan Huskies last weekend to start off 2019, the University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team will look to get the year back on track with a home and home weekend series against the Lethbridge Pronghorns starting Friday night in Lethbridge. The Dinos will play their first home game of 2019 Saturday.

NEW YEAR, NEW DINOS?
After a disappointing first half for the Dinos saw them last in the Canada West standings, it didn't help that they had to open up their 2019 campaign against a strong Saskatchewan team. After being blanked in the first game, the showed a promising effort in 3-2 loss, separated only by a late power play goal. The result could be a sign of things to come for the team as they get back into the second half of the season.

LOOKING FOR VENGANCE
The Dinos and Pronghorns have been two teams over the past couple of seasons that have been in a pack fighting for the final playoff spot in Canada West. It has been all Pronghorns in the race this season as they swept the Dinos in late October, a series in which Lethbridge goaltending was able to hold Calgary off the scoresheet.

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
When team points leader Elizabeth Lang went down for the season with an upper body injury, the Dinos were forced to step up in her absence. Coach Danielle Goyette has been mixing up the lines in search of new goal scorers to bolster the offense. Speedster Rachel Paul has burst through to second on the team in scoring, posting three goals and two assists for the season. On the back end, it has been Laine Grace picking up the slack, scoring once and adding another five assists.
