CALGARY – After a pair of hard-fought games in the conference semifinals, the University of Calgary Dinos have a shot at redemption as they get set to visit the Trinity Western Spartans for the Canada West bronze medal game on Saturday night.

HEADLINES
  • The Dinos and Spartans met in early January in Langley where they split a weekend set.
  • This is the Dinos' deepest playoff run since the 2012-13 season where they came fourth in the U SPORTS Final 8.
  • The bronze medal matchup will mark the first time that these two teams have gone head-to-head in Canada West playoff history.

CALGARY DINOS (15-5)
  • Both of Calgary's losses last weekend to the Regina Cougars were settled in the final minute of the game, with the Dinos nearly missing chances to tie the game.
  • Senior Shannon Hatch has been dangerous from three-point range, hitting 39.1 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc. 
  • The Dinos will again look to take control of the boards as they have been doing all season sitting first in Canada West in offensive rebound, while also being atop the table in total rebounds.

No. 10 TRINITY WESTERN SPARTANS (16-4)
  • Forward Tessa Ratzlaff is third in points per game, averaging an impressive 18.4 and totalling 367 points total for the season, again sitting third in Canada West.
  • Took second place Saskatchewan to three games last weekend before losing and get set to play for bronze.
  • The Spartans have been a threat in terms of passing the basketball, averaging a Canada West second best 16.6 assists a game.
