CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey team will have a pair of fresh faces in the lineup this weekend as they return to Canada West action at home against the UBC Thunderbirds.
After beginning the season with the ECHL's Jacksonville IceMen, forwards Tyler Coulter and Ryan Graham have joined the Dinos.
Coulter amassed 76 goals and 176 points in four years in the Western Hockey League. Dinos goaltender Jordan Papirny played with Coulter on the Brandon Wheat Kings, and explained how he will have a positive impact with the team.
"I played with Tyler for three and a half years [in Brandon]. He's a big power forward, he takes up a lot of space, and is very good at putting the puck in the net."
Graham meanwhile, notched 72 goals and 140 points over five full seasons in the WHL. Graham played the majority of his junior career with the Saskatoon Blades before ending his final campaign with the Swift Current Broncos.
This weekend's games will be the first for the Dinos since they forfeited games played on Oct. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 after self-disclosing an ineligible player. Two of those games came against the T-Birds, which boosted them into fourth place, now three points ahead of the Dinos.
