Dinos look to start a roll as Manitobans roll in

CALGARY – The Dinos are back to their own stomping grounds this weekend and will be hosting the University of Manitoba Bisons and the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.

The Dinos enter this upcoming weekend at 2-2-2 after a significant 4-0 win against the Regina Cougars and a tight contest against the Saskatchewan Huskies, resulting in a 1-1 draw. 

DETAILS
•    Date: Saturday, Sept. 30 vs Manitoba; Sunday Oct. 1 vs Winnipeg  
•    Start time: 12 p.m. MT
•    Venue: West Varsity Pitch, University of Calgary

HEADLINES
•    Calgary and Manitoba last encountered each other in the Canada West playoffs a year ago, with Manitoba scoring an upset 1-0 victory
•    In the 2016season, the Dinos and Wesmen competed against each other, and the Dinos pulled out a 10-0 Win over the Wesmen.

CALGARY DINOS (2-2-2)
•    Last week: 4-0 win against the University of Regina Cougars and a 1-1 draw against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
•    Next week: The Dinos will be playing back to back matches against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, with Saturday's match in Calgary and Sunday in Lethbridge. 
•    Montana Leonard in last week's match versus the Regina Cougars racked up six shots and one goal. Overall this season, Leonard has shot 19 times, with 11 of them landing on goal. 
•    Maddison Fritze is the team's leading scorer, acquiring four goals in the first five matches. 
•    Goalkeeper Lauren Houghton has made 29 saves thus far and has a save percentage of .906.

MANITOBA BISONS (1-4-1)
•    Last week: 0-1 loss against the Alberta Pandas and 0-3 loss against the Mount Royal Cougars. 
•    Next week: The Bisons stay in their home city of Winnipeg to play against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on Saturday and Sunday.
•    Florin Wagner, a rookie from Germany is the team's top shooter, with 22 shots from the first five matches. Wagner has previously played in the UEFA Women's Champion's League with Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic before coming to North America. 
•    The team's shot on goal percentage, thus far in the season is 0.518.
•    The Bisons are hungry for a win after dropping four consecutive games
•    Manitoba will host the U SPORTS women's soccer championship in November

WINNIPEG WESMEN (1-4-1)
•    Last week: 4-0 win against the Mount Royal Cougars and 0-4 loss against the Alberta Pandas.
•    Next week: The Wesmen will also be staying right at home in Winnipeg to play against the University of Manitoba Bisons on Saturday and Sunday.
•    Maeghan Lindsay, a third year forward has gotten all three of Winnipeg's goals so far this season. 
•    Madison Fordyce, the goalkeeper has made an incredible 28 saves this season. Fordyce was named the Manitoba youth female athlete of the year in 2016.
