Dinos ready to battle hungry Pronghorns team

| By:
CALGARY – Following another weekend split, the University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey team will try to separate themselves from the middle of the pack with a pair of games against the Lethbridge Pronghorns to close out the calendar year.

Last weekend, the Dinos regained third spot in Canada West after a 3-2 bounce back win on Saturday afternoon. The Dinos were led by four different goal scorers in a convincing 4-0 victory, while first-year goaltender Jordan Papirny turned away 24 shots for his first collegiate shutout. Papirny he now stands alone atop the major goaltending categories in Canada West with a 1.40 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.

The Pronghorns saw their three-game win streak snapped last weekend on the backend of their road trip as they fell 5-2 on Saturday night to the Regina Cougars.

"As a team, we cannot take Lethbridge lightly give their standing," said second-year Dino Luke Harrison. "We will play them the same as any other team in league, as we should. Every game in this league is tough and expect them to bring their best."

Harrison, who already eclipsed his first year scoring totals, credits team play and a few adjustments to his success

"As a team, we have been focusing on wearing the opposition down in the offensive zone by creating a cycle and holding onto pucks until we have a scoring chance. I have also been focusing on shot accuracy, screening the goalie and stopping in the paint for loose pucks. That focus has given me the opportunity to have personal success."

In goal for Lethbridge, expect to see Garret Hughson between the pipes, as he has carried the majority of the workload for the Pronghorns this season. Coming into this weekend, he has faced the fourth most shots in Canada West with 335.
