Home-and-home with Pronghorns for WSOC

CALGARY – After two straight four-point weekends, the Dinos will look to continue moving up the standings this weekend as they face back-to-back contests with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.

The series opens Saturday in Calgary before shifting south for Sunday's return match.

DETAILS
  • Date: Saturday Oct. 7 and Sunday Oct. 8 vs University of Lethbridge  
  • Start time: 12 p.m.
  • Venue: West Varsity Pitch, University of Calgary on Saturday and at Lethbridge on Sunday.

HEADLINES
  • Calgary and the Pronghorns played back to back matches at this same time last season. The Dinos lost 1-3 the first game, but bounced back the next day and won 2-0 in 2016. 

CALGARY DINOS (3-2-3)
  • Last week: 0-0 draw against the University of Manitoba Bisons and 2-0 against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. 
  • Next week: The Dinos will be headed to the Okanagan Valley to play against the University of British Columbia-Okanagan Heat on Saturday and Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack on Sunday. 
  • Maddison Fritze has secured her place of being top scorer, with having so far this season five goals, including an incredible breakaway goal that happened just last weekend.
  • Montana Leonard from this past weekend alone had ten shots. In total this season, Leonard has 29 shots. 
  • Goalkeeper Lauren Houghton, has improved her save percentage and is now standing at 0.925. 

LETHBRIDGE PRONGHORNS (3-4-1)
  • Last week: 1-0 win against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen and 0-3 loss against the University of Manitoba Bisons. 
  • Next week: The Pronghorns will also be heading to Kamloops and Kelowna. On Saturday, they will play Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack and on Sunday, they will compete against UBC-Okanagan Heat. 
  • Lindsay Amatto is the Pronghorns top scorer so far this season, accumulating four goals. 
  • The Horns will get a chance to try and switch standings as the Calgary Dinos stand in 4th place and the Horns are currently in 5th place. 
  • Micaela Stone, who is the goalkeeper, has a current save percentage of 0.844 this season.
