Dinos welcome provincial foes for final weekend

CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's soccer team will look to finish their regular season in style when they host the Mount Royal University Cougars and University of Alberta Pandas this weekend. 

DETAILS
•    Date: Saturday, Oct. 21 vs Mount Royal and Sunday, Oct. 22 vs Alberta
•    Start time: 12 p.m. MT
•    Venue: West Varsity Soccer Pitch, University of Calgary

HEADLINES
•    The Dinos and Cougars participated in their first Crowchild Classic contest at the beginning of this season. The final score was 0-0 draw.
•    The Dinos started their season with their first game against the Pandas, which ended in a 1-0 loss. 

CALGARY DINOS (6-3-3)
•    Last week: 3-1 win against the UBCO Heat and a 4-0 victory against the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack.  
•    Maddison Fritze continued to be the team's top scorer with six goals in the season.
•    Kelsie MacDonald had incredible games last weekend with two goals on Saturday and a hat trick on Sunday. 
•    The Dinos team shoots on average 15 times per games and has increased their shot on goal percentage to 0.529. 
•    In the Prairie Division, the Calgary Dinos stand in third place, behind Alberta and Saskatchewan.  

MOUNT ROYAL COUGARS (4-4-4)
•    Last week: 0-0 draw against the University of Victoria Vikes and a 3-3 draw against the UBC Thunderbirds. 
•    Goalkeeper Cailyn Leeson has improved her save percentage, now sitting at 0.836.
•    Haley Nicholson is the team's top scorer and most consistent player. This season she has shot 11 times and scored three goals for a shooting percentage of 0.727.
•    The Cougars are right behind the Dinos in shots on goal percentage as an entire team. The Cougars stand at a percentage of 0.528.

ALBERTA PANDAS (8-2-2)
•    Last week: 2-1 win over the UBC Thunderbirds and a 0-1 loss against the Victoria Vikes.
•    Sydney Daines is third in the Canada West standings for overall shots. This season she has had 47 opportunities to shoot. 
•    On average per game, the Pandas have scored two goals and shot 20 times. 
•    Goalkeepers Rebecca Reif and Cassie Bazzarelli both have a 0.50 on goals-against average.
