BOX SCORE BRANDON, Man. - The Calgary Dinos scored early and often, jumping out to a 12-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game en route to an 85-27 whitewash of the Brandon Bobcats Saturday night.

It was the 2011-12 season-openeer for both teams, and it ended two points better for Calgary than the last time these two teams met - a 99-43 Dinos win Nov. 20, 2010 in the Jack Simpson Gym.
Given an easy path to the hoop all night, the Dinos shot an impressive 49 per cent from the field while the Bobcats scored just eight field goals in the game. Calgary held Brandon off the scoresheet entirely in the fourth quarter, putting up a 25-0 goose egg in the final 10 minutes.
Dinos head coach Shawnee Harle made liberal use of her bench, with every player on the roster seeing at least 16 minutes on the floor and none more than 25.
Alex Cole's 13-point performance led the way for Calgary and was matched by 13-point nights from
Alex Cole and
Tamara Jarrett.
Playing their first conference games with the Dinos,
Jenna Kaye finished 5-for-7 from the field with 11 points and nine assists, while
Jessica Franz hauled in 11 rebounds to lead all players.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was rookie Aimee Johnston, finishing with eight points and eight rebounds. Jaynell Gillett finished with six points and 10 rebounds.
The two teams will meet again Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. MT in the BU Gym.
