BOX SCORE CALGARY – In their Breast Cancer Awareness Game, the University of Calgary Dinos fell 1-0 to the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds at the West Varsity Soccer Pitch as they were knocked out of playoff contention.

After consecutive 2-0 victories in their previous two matches, Calgary found themselves in a battle with Victoria for the final playoff spot. With the Vikes defeating UFV 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, they were able to clinch the final spot and eliminate Calgary.
The Thunderbirds controlled the majority of the play through the first half. UBC was able to get several in close attempts at the Dinos goal, but were unable to put the hammer down as the half ended scoreless.
The second half saw Calgary begin to put more pressure on, but it was UBC who would get on the scoreboard. At the 68th minute, Rachelle Ramsden set up Janine Frazao for the lone goal of the match. The Dinos continued to fight for an equalizer but couldn't get anything past the UBC 'keeper.
The Thunderbirds outshot the Dinos 10 to seven. UBC had the advantage in corner kicks three, while Calgary had two attempts.
Calgary returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they close out the year against the Canada West`s top team TWU.
The Thunderbirds play their final regular season match tomorrow as they travel to take on Lethbridge.
