BOX SCORE ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - The University of Calgary Dinos defeated the UFV Cascades 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Bateman Park in Abbotsford.

The Cascades' Canada West regular season record falls to 1-9-2 for 5 points. The Dinos' record improves to 6-5-1 for 19 points.
The win keeps the Dinos in the playoff hunt with just two games remaining: home contests against UBC and Trinity Western next weekend. Calgary enters the final weekend of the regular season trailing TWU by one point in the standings for the fourth and final playoff spot and will likely need to sweep their final two games to qualify for the post-season.
Calgary came out strong and dominated the early minutes of the match, winning all the loose balls and controlling a large portion of the midfield. The Dinos offence built up an attack that was rewarded in the 19th minute as Chris Wycliffe-Jone scored his first goal of the season.
The Cascades offense came alive after Calgary's goal but could not solve the Dinos defensce and Calgary scored a second goal with time running down by
Cristian Lorenzoni.
In the second half, UFV tested the Dinos' defense but Calgary held UFV at bay. The Dinos used two goalkeepers in the match,
Jordan Unreiner earned the victory by playing the first 76 minutes in net.
Colin Hasick finished up for Calgary between the pipes.
The Cascades Mark Village, Abbotsford, BC went the distance for UFV giving up both Calgary goals.
The Dinos face UBC Saturday, Oct. 29 and Trinity Western Sunday, Oct. 30, with both games at the West Varsity Soccer Pitch.
