Jorgensen scores OT winner as Dinos top Huskies

| By:
SASKATOON - University of Calgary Dinos leading scorer Reid Jorgensen scored the game winner at 3:52 into overtime to give his team the 3-2 win Friday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.

BOX SCORE

Jorgensen was able to get a partial break away on a puck that bounced out of the Calgary zone after big pressure in the extra five minute frame by the Huskies. He sniped the puck over Huskie netminder David Reekie's stick and into the back of the net.

Although the Huskies earn a point, the loss was disappointing for the team looking to earn one of three playoff spots. Entering the weekend, the Huskies and Dinos were neck-and-neck in the standings. The win moves Calgary to 11-9-5, while the Huskies drop to 12-7-4. Calgary sits just one point behind the Huskies who hold on to the third-place spot in the Canada West standings.

On a power play Huskie Steven Gillen was able to open the scoring when he received a cross-crease pass from Brennan Bosch and lifted the puck above the stick of Calgary netminder Dustin Butler at 18:47. The Huskies were on the man advantage after Joel Eisenkirch was caught for cross-checking.

Bosch made it a two goal lead for the Huskies just 3:46 into the second period when he received a pass from Michael Kaye. Calgary's Aaron Richards cut the Huskies lead in half 4:15 later when his shot from the point trickled behind Huskie goalie David Reekie.

The Dinos were able to once again tie the game up roughly four minutes into the final frame with a goal by Cory Pritz at 4:48 in the third period.

Butler stopped 35 of 37 shots for the Dinos, while Reekie stopped 28 for the Huskies.

The two teams will meet again Saturday night at Rutherford Rink. Puck drop is 6 p.m. MT.
