After gaining a starting role in camp, fourth-year Calgary linebacker Geoff Paiement was all over the field on defence Friday night in the Dinos’ 34-33 overtime loss in Saskatoon.

The science student from Okotoks, Alta. led all players with 11.5 tackles, nine of which were solos, from his SAM linebacker position. More than half that total (6.5) came in the first quarter when the Dinos held up a pair of Huskie drives to limit the hosts to just four points, keeping Calgary in a game that would eventually be decided on a two-point convert attempt in the second overtime shootout.

The Dinos (0-1) face their provincial rival Alberta (0-1) Saturday afternoon in their home opener, with kickoff at 1 p.m. at McMahon Stadium.
