Fifth year senior Henry Bekkering was at his high-flying best over the weekend, scoring 71 points in two games as the No. 4 Calgary Dinos split their season-ending series on the road with the Alberta Golden Bears.

In Friday’s 99-92 Calgary win, Bekkering struck for 41 points – a career high for him, the second-highest total in the conference this season, and the best single game output by a Dino since 1997. He had nearly half of Calgary’s field goals on the night and was a near-perfect 9-for-10 from the charity stripe to lead the Dinos to victory – and he did it all in just 30 minutes on the floor.

He struck for 30 the following night, a 10-point loss to the Bears on a weekend that had no bearing on the final standings.

Bekkering finishes the year fourth in the conference in scoring with 20.2 points per game. The Dinos (17-5) enjoy a first-round playoff bye this weekend before hosting the Central Division Final Feb. 20-22 in the Jack Simpson Gym, where they will play the winner of this week’s Alberta-Saskatchewan semi-final series in Edmonton.
