Fifth year forward Henry Bekkering led the charge for the Calgary Dinos this weekend, running their record to 9-1 with a two-game sweep of divisional rival Saskatchewan on the road.

Bekkering scored 49 points on the weekend, including a 30-point performance in Saturday’s come-from-behind 90-80 win. He averaged 5.5 rebounds each night, just behind his brother Ross for the team lead.

The big man found the range with the long ball over the weekend, knocking down eight three-point baskets on just 13 attempts. He shot a total of 48 per cent from the floor and made good on 11 of his 16 free throw attempts.

Bekkering and the Dinos head into the Christmas break with a five-game lead in the Central Division and sit tied with UBC for the top record in Canada West at 9-1.
