Fourth-year goalkeeper Kristen Barton backstopped the Calgary Dinos to a pair of key shutout wins over the weekend, keeping their playoff hopes alive as the season enters its final weekend.

Saturday in Winnipeg, Barton made five saves to help lift the Dinos over Manitoba by a 2-0 score. A day later in Regina, she recorded another five-save shutout – her third of the season – as the Dinos defeated the Cougars by the same 2-0 count.

Barton and the Dinos (6-3-3) sit tied with Victoria for the fourth and final playoff spot with 21 points, though the Dinos do have one game in hand on the Vikes. Calgary closes the regular season this weekend with a pair of home dates against the top two teams in Canada West – UBC (9-1-2) on Saturday, and Trinity Western (10-1-1) Sunday.
