Brynna Walker led the way for the young University of Calgary Dinos women’s rugby program this weekend.
The Dinos won both games on a coastal road trip, the first two victories in program history. It all began with a 34-10 win Friday night in Vancouver against the UBC Thunderbirds, where Walker contributed one of the Dinos’ tries. Sunday in a 31-15 win over Victoria on the Island, Walker added another try and a pair of converts to lift the Dinos to victory.
The second-year centre from Souris, Man., who missed an opportunity to compete for Canada over the summer due to injury, battled back and is contributing for the Dinos, who host the 2011 Canada West rugby championship Oct. 21 and 23.
