Jake Harty didn’t wait long to make his presence felt in CIS football.

On his first touch of the football in his first regular season game, Harty returned a Manitoba kickoff 88 yards to the end zone to score the Calgary Dinos’ first touchdown of the season. On three subsequent kickoff returns, he added another 71 yards, racked up a 22-yard punt return, and led the Dinos with 61 receiving yards on the afternoon as they came from behind to defeat the Manitoba Bisons 35-31 in Winnipeg.

His 242 all-purpose yards lead Canada West after Week 1, with 181 of those coming courtesy the return game.

Harty and the Dinos (1-0) face off with the UBC Thunderbirds (1-0) Friday night in KICKOFF 2011 at McMahon Stadium.
