Hayley Wickenheiser was at it again last weekend – extending her lead atop the Canada West scoring race and giving the Calgary Dinos sole possession of first place in the conference in a two-game sweep of the Alberta Pandas.

Friday night in Edmonton, the national team captain scored Calgary’s first goal, then added a helper on Elana Lovell’s OT winner as the Dinos snapped an 11-year losing streak against the Pandas. One night later in the friendly confines of the Olympic Oval, Wickenheiser scored both goals as the Dinos upended the Pandas 2-0 to sweep the weekend and cement their lead in the conference standings.

She leads the nation with 19 points in eight games.

No. 8 Calgary (6-2-0) will have to go without their leading scorer for the next two weeks as Wickenheiser heads to St. John’s, N.L. to compete for Canada at the Four Nations’ Cup. In the meantime, the Dinos visit Saskatchewan this weekend for a two-game series against the Huskies (4-2-0).
