The Calgary Dinos have had their struggles with the Lethbridge Pronghorns on the ice of late – but captain Reid Jorgensen stepped up on the weekend to lead the Dinos to a pair of big wins.

Jorgensen scored three goals over the two games to lead the Dinos to the sweep with a 5-4 shootout win in Lethbridge Friday followed by a 2-1 victory of the overtime variety Saturday in Calgary.

The fourth-year forward from Vancouver scored the series opener early in the first period Friday, then added his second of the night late in the second period to give the Dinos a 4-1 lead. His goal looked like it would be the game winner until the Horns tied it up late, sending it to a shootout.

A night later back at Father David Bauer Arena, he scored the game-tying goal early in the third period, setting the stage for Jerrid Sauer’s OT winner.

Jorgensen heads home this weekend as he Dinos (2-2) face the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver.
