Valerio is the longest-serving member of the Dinos Women's Soccer coaching staff, having joined the sideline in 2016. During her tenure with the team, the Dinos have three U SPORTS championship appearances and the 2019 Canada West championship.

Since arriving in Calgary, Valerio has risen through the city's soccer ranks, now serving as the girls' foundation phase manager at Calgary Foothills Soccer Club. In recent years, she has also held roles with Canada Soccer as a coach developer and the Calgary Minor Soccer Association as a league director. Valerio began her collegiate coaching career in Atlantic Canada, including two stints as an assistant coach with the University of New Brunswick Reds, as well as being the head coach of the St. Thomas University Tommies. She is currently the technical development coordinator at Alberta Soccer
 
The Ottawa, Ont., native played semi-professional soccer for the Ottawa Fury from 2006 to 2008. She then played four seasons for the Princeton University Tigers, where she won an Ivy League title and earned an appearance at the NCAA tournament in 2008 before being named team captain in her final season in 2010.
 
Valerio graduated from Princeton with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2011 and holds Canada Soccer's B Licence.
