Josh Gosling was been named the head coach of the University of Calgary Dinos Women's Hockey Joan Snyder Program of Excellence by Dinos Director of Athletics Ben Matchett on May 29, 2024.
Gosling, who was elevated to interim head coach of the program in October 2023, spent two seasons as associate head coach, working alongside Carla MacLeod. He is the seventh head coach in Dinos women's hockey history.
Following the departure of MacLeod to the Professional Women's Hockey League, Gosling compiled a record of 10-10-2 as interim head coach in the 2023-24 season. The Dinos won nine of their final 14 regular season games to secure the fifth seed in the Canada West Playoffs. Under Gosling's guidance, Calgary defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies on the road in the conference quarterfinal, overcoming a Game 1 loss, to clinch their first postseason series victory since 2015.
Gosling joined the Dinos in August of 2021 from Edge School, a private school for Grades 4-12 located just west of Calgary, where he served as the head coach of their boy's U17 prep team.
A father of three, Gosling also brings experience from various levels with Hockey Alberta and is a Hockey Canada Certified Skills Coach.
