John Tramble joined the Dinos women's basketball program for the 2016-17 season. 

From Halifax, Nova Scotia, John Tramble moved to Calgary in August 2013, and was an assistant coach with the Mount Royal University Women’s Basketball team for 3 seasons.

A graduate from St. Francis Xavier University (B.A, B.Ed), Tramble started his university coaching career as an assistant coach with the St. FX X-Women basketball team in 2008-09.  Under Head Coach and current Dinos Men's assistant coach Matt Skinn, they posted a 16-4 regular season record and were AUS championship semi-finalists.

In 2009, Tramble moved to Prince George, B.C, and became an assistant coach for the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Men’s basketball team from 2009-2013. There they won a CCAA National championship in 2010, as well, two BCCAA provincial championships in 2010, and 2012.

For the past nine years, Tramble has been involved within the Nova Scotia/BC/Alberta basketball communities. For the past two years, he has been Head Coach with Calgary Basketball Academy/MRU U17 & U16 Jr cougar programs, an assistant coach with Alberta provincial team in 2014, coached in Basketball BC regional training centres, Basketball Alberta Centre of Performance, and Target Athlete Strategy (TAS), amongst various basketball camps, skill sessions, and school teams.

During those years, Tramble has had the privilege to work with a variety of university programs, and current CIS coaches such as Matt Skinn (UofC), Len Harvey (Acadia), Mike Raimbault (Winnipeg), Todd Jordan (UNBC), Claire Meadows (UBCO) and Nate McKibbon (MRU). 
Coach Tramble is currently a junior high teacher & basketball coach at St. Elizabeth Seton (K-9) school in Calgary.
