Before UC: Captain of the city champion Notre Dame Pride in 2009 … named high school male athlete of the year … won Tier II provincial championship in 2008 … spent eight seasons with the Calgary Hilltoppers, winning top offensive lineman honours four times and rookie of the year once … named to the Calgary bantam all-star selects team and was a midget all-star and high school all-star twice each … also competed in rugby, basketball, badminton, and athletics field events (shot put, discus) …
