Before UC: Won the Hec Crighton Trophy as the most outstanding player in CIS football in 2007 … also a first-team CIS All-Canadian … led Saint Mary’s to a berth in the Vanier Cup in 2007 … suffered a torn left ACL during a 24-2 defeat of Laval in the Uteck Bowl, forcing him to sit out the Vanier Cup (a 28-14 loss to Manitoba) … led SMU to its first Atlantic conference title in three years in 2007 … quarterbacked a Huskies offence that led the nation in points (352) and yards (529.4/game) …f inished the season with 1843 passing yards, 478 rushing yards, and five rushing TDs…was sacked just twice in the regular season … recruited by Coach Nill out of St. Mary High School in Pickering, Ont … three-time league MVP in high school …
