Henre Meyer is the ninth head coach in Dinos program history, is no stranger to the team. Back in 2008, he starred as a guest coach to the University of Calgary field hockey program working with goalkeepers and providing a goalkeeper drill guide.
Meyer comes from Field Hockey Alberta where he was a high performance coach in 2011. During that time, the native of South Africa also attended national and junior national team camps. His time spent coaching, and playing will bring a new set of skills to the Dinos program in the fall.
Meyer began his playing days at the U16 level in his hometown of Somerset West, Western Cape. From there, his days as a goalkeeper eventually earned him a spot on the Stellenbosch University team competing in Division 1. Meyer completed a B.Comm while attending Stellenbosch and while there, was a provincial representative at a number of tournaments, winning a national championship in 2003.
That same year was when Meyer began coaching, beginning at the high school level in South Africa, making his way up to the University level at Stellenbosch, to running private goalkeeping clinics.
