CALGARY – Bomi Lawal of the University of Calgary Dinos women's rugby team has been named to the first Canada west Rugby 7s Tournament Dream Team for the 2026 season, the league office announced Wednesday morning.

Lawal played a big role in the first tournament for the season for Calgary.

The third-year wing was the catalyst for the Dinos offence on day one of the the two-day tournament, headlined by a pair of tries in Calgary's 24-19 win over provincial rival Alberta.

In all, Lawal finished the opening tournament with a team-high three tries and helped the Dinos to a fourth-place finish with wins over Alberta and Lethbridge.

This marks the second weekly Dream Team selection for Lawal, who also was honoured back on Jan. 29, 2025.

Calgary will now turn its attention to the second of three weekend tournaments, scheduled for Feb. 7-8 and hosted by Victoria.
