CALGARY – Bomi Lawal of the University of Calgary Dinos women's rugby team has been named to the first Canada West Rugby 7s Tournament Dream Team, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Lawal played a big role in the first tournament of the season for Calgary. 

The second-year wing drove the Dinos offence all weekend, racking up a total of five tries on the opening weekend - tied for third most among all players following the first tournament of the 7s season.

Lawal got things started with a heads-up play to open the scoring against UBC. She then added two more tries - including a highlight reel play after stiff-arming her defender to the turf - in a near upset of Victoria.

The Calgary native then found the end zone in each of Day 2's action against Trinity Western and Lethbridge. 

The Dinos now will gear up for a trip to British Columbia for the second tournament of the season, Feb. 7-8 hosted by Trinity Western.
