SASKATOON – Colby Wilson recorded her first Canada West shutout, while Emily Holmes scored the first goal of her university career, helping the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's hockey team pick up a 2-0 win over the University Calgary Dinos at Merlis Belsher Place.
Two third-period goals, including Holmes' go-ahead marker at the mid-way point of the frame were the difference in a neck-and-neck contest that saw goals disallowed for both sides. Saskatchewan improves to 4-1-2 on the yer with the win, while Calgary falls to 3-6-0.
Wilson stopped everything in the win, recording 22-saves to improve her record to 1-0-1 this season. On the opposite side of the ice,
Gabriella Durante made 23 saves for the Dinos.
Calgary will look to get back in the win column with a rematch on Saturday night at Merlis Belsher Place.
