CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos dropped a 4-0 decision to the first place University of Alberta Pandas on Friday night at Father David Bauer Arena.

After dropping the last two games, the Dinos looked to get back to their winning ways but were halted by Alberta's strong play. Autumn MacDougall, Abby Krzyzaniak, Regan Wright and Jaslin Sawatzky all scored for the Panda's, Kirsten Chamberlin made 18 saves on the night.

The Pandas got on the board first at 3:17 into the first period, with a scrum in front of Kelsey Roberts, the Pandas MacDougall tapped the puck in to take the lead early. Alberta was relentless with their pressure and increased their lead five minutes later, Krzyzaniak picked up the rebound to the left of Roberts and put it away, giving the Panda's a 2-0 lead.

The second period saw the Dinos create more pressure and get better chances but they could not solve Chamberlin. Alberta added a third goal in the final minute of the frame as Wright picked up a Dinos turnover and skated into the offensive zone, firing a shot over the shoulder of Roberts to put the game away.

Sawatzky gave the Pandas a four-goal lead with five minutes remaining in the game. Roberts made 32 saves on 36 shots as the Dinos have now dropped three straight games now.

"We did not start the way we wanted to start, we did not follow the game plan," said Dinos Head Coach Danielle Goyette. "We know we can play better – it is not that we did not work hard tonight it is that we did not work smart. We need to come back harder out of the gates [for next game] we need to move the puck quicker, we need to have closer support, we have to prove to ourselves that we are a better team than we showed tonight."

The Dinos will now head north to Edmonton for the second game of this series. Puck drop on the rematch will be on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Clare Drake Arena.
