Timberwolves make rare appearance in the Jack

| By:
CALGARY – After remaining unbeaten through the fall semester, the University of Calgary Dinos men's basketball team are looking to ring in the New Year with a pair of wins against the UNBC Timberwolves this weekend in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium. The Dinos will square off against the Timberwolves on both Friday, Jan. 3 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, Jan. 4 (7 p.m.) to open up a new decade.

FALL RECAP
After an unbeaten run through the conference last season the Dinos are looking to mirror that effect this year as the second half of the season gets underway. The Dinos, who are so far undefeated in the conference this season (8-0), were in tough this fall with a few nail-biter wins at home and away. While the Dinos have been stellar across their entire roster, dominant performances game after game by fourth-year forward Brett Layton have been key.

SOUTH OF THE BORDER
After a couple weeks off for the Christmas break the Dinos headed south of the border to take on a pair of American teams in California as part of the 44th Annual Tom Byron Classic. The Dinos came up short in two hard fought battles as they took on the Westmont College Warriors and the Master's University Mustangs. Against the Mustangs, it was a last-minute surge by the opposing team that saw the team fall short in their second game down south.

U SPORTS TOP 10
The final U SPORTS Top 10 rankings of 2019 saw the Dinos hold steady at No. 3. After a strong first half of the season the Dinos will be looking to maintain their momentum and keep things going with the playoff season quickly approaching.
