CALGARY – After a week off, the University of Calgary Dinos women's volleyball team is prepared to charge full steam ahead into 2020 at home with a double header against the Brandon Bobcats. The battle will go down 6 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jack.
RINGING IN 2020 WITH A ROAD WIN
After a successful sweep against the Manitoba Bisons, the Dinos women have located the keys to success in this 2020 campaign. Serving proved to be instrumental in the matchup with the Bisons as the Dinos came away with 26 aces, with six each coming from
Kenzie Vaandering and
Autumn Davidson.
Beth Vinnell and
Trinity Solecki propelled the offence with 22 and 23 kills apiece.
COACH'S TAKE
"As we enter the second semester, every match we play is important for us to bring our best performance to the court and find ways to win, regardless of our opponent," said Dinos Head Coach
Natalie Gurnsey. "With Brandon on the docket this weekend, we will need to serve tough and be prepared for long rallies against this scrappy team. I believe the Dinos girls are up for the challenge."
