CALGARY – After a week off the fourth place University of Calgary Dinos will be looking to come out strong against the ninth place MacEwan University Griffins. The Dinos will take on the Griffins in a two-game matchup on Nov. 8-9 in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium.
LAST GAME RECAP
The Dinos last took to the court at the Tournament Capital Centre two weeks ago to take on the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack in Kamloops, B.C. Opening their two-game matchup the Dinos won in straight sets to take the first of two-games, but the Wolfpack put up a fight as they took the Dinos to five sets on day two with the Dinos once again coming out on top.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
With a home court advantage, the Dinos look to surge past the Griffins and improve their 3-1 record early in the season to make sure they are in prime position to snag a playoff berth. The Griffins joined Canada West in 2014 and have an 0-10 regular season record against the Dinos.
POWER ON THE OUTSIDE
The Dinos dynamic duo of outside hitters
Mac McNicol and
Liam Kuppe have been a force to be reckoned with on the court so far this season. McNicol and Kuppe lead the Dinos in kills with 35 and 36 apiece respectively. MacEwan will be looking to their veteran outside hitters Max Vriend and Jordan Peters to match the strength of the Dinos dynamic duo on the outside.
