First-place Battle of Alberta hits the ice

| By:
CALGARY – After getting the week off, the University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey team returns to the ice this weekend for a home and home series against the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Game one of the series will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at Father David Bauer Arena. The two teams will then head to Edmonton for game two at Clare Drake Arena on Saturday. Both games are set for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Dinos will return home to Father David Bauer for the first time since Oct. 12 this weekend. During the extended road trip, the squad split both series against the Manitoba Bisons and Saskatchewan Huskies, gaining five of the eight points up for grabs.

ALFARO HEATING UP
Matt Alfaro has been on a tear to start the Canada West season. Through just eight games, Alfaro has 17 points coming from eight goals and nine assists. He has also proved that he can show up in big situations by adding the overtime winner against Saskatchewan last weekend.

U SPORTS TOP 10 BATTLE
Thanks to a hot start to the season, the Dinos have found themselves ranked fifth in the most recent USPORTS Top 10. Canada West has filled the Top 10 board this season so far with three teams (Alberta, Mount Royal, Saskatchewan) joining the Dinos as some of Canada's elite teams.
