KAMLOOPS, BC – The University of Calgary Dinos were unable to earn their first win of the season on Saturday night, falling to one of the two unbeaten teams in Canada West, the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack 3-1 (25-27, 19-25, 29-25, 22-25) at the Tournament Capital Centre.
The WolfPack wre led offensively by Kseniya Kocyigit who had 15 kills in 21 swings, three service aces, four digs, a solo block and two block assists.
Calgary was led by fifth-year middle
Beth Vinnell with 12 kills in 31 swings.
Lexi Peart had 38 assists and nine digs.
Kenzie Vaandering had 14 digs while
Kennedy Snape had 11 digs.
After dropping the first two sets by close margins, the Dinos had one of their best performances of the season during the third set, showing resilience in a marathon 29-27 win.
Both teams are idle next week and return to league play on Friday November 8th. Calgary is at home to the MacEwan Griffins while the WolfPack will tangle with the Alberta Pandas at the Tournament Capital Centre.
