KAMLOOPS, BC – The University of Calgary Dinos are heading back to Calgary with a 3-1 record after sweeping the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack with a 3-2 win (25-23,21-25,16-25,27-25,15-10) on Saturday night at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Thompson Rivers was besieged by service errors and had 37 in the match compared to only 12 for the Dinos. After dropping the first set, the Pack won the next two sets. In the second set, Nimo Benne had four kills and in the third, he added five more. He led the WolfPack on the night with 17 kills in 32 chances.
The Dinos were led offensively by Mac McNichol. He had 10 kills including five in the fourth set.
Liam Kuppe had six kills in 23 chances.
Tomas Sorra contributed 24 assists and 12 digs while
Tyler Funk had 11 digs.
Both teams are idle next week and return to league play on Friday November 8th. Calgary is at home to the MacEwan Griffins while the WolfPack will tangle with the Alberta Golden Bears at the Tournament Capital Centre.
