CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos men's basketball will work to stay undefeated this weekend as they host the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. The series opens on Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Jack Simpson Gym and concludes Saturday night at 7 p.m.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS
Before the season began the Dinos were ranked No. 1 in the preseason coaches' poll – eservedly so, since they won the national championship last season – but with that comes pressure. So far the Dinos have lived up to expectations starting the season 4-0 and Mambi Diawara leading the way with 22.5 ppg.

REMATCH
Last time these two teams played each other was in the first round of the Canada West playoffs where the Dinos defeated the Huskies in both games. They also played earlier in the 2017-18 regular season where the Dinos completed a two-game sweep in early December. The Huskies come into this season fifth in the preseason coaches' poll so it will be a good test for the streaking Dinos.

QUOTABLE
Head coach Dan Vanhooren on his team's success this season so far: "I don't think there are any secrets, we're an experienced team, and we returned a lot of guys. So we're starting the ahead of where we would normally be this time of year with our tactics. We've been lucky to get through a couple of games where I thought it could have gone either way."
