CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos men's volleyball team resumes Canada West competition this weekend as they host the Brandon Bobcats at the Jack Simpson Gym.
The Dinos are riding a four-game win streak in conference play, closing out 2017 with wins against the Saskatchewan Huskies and UBCO Heat. Calgary was in California during the holiday break where they took on Stanford in two exhibition games.

HEADLINES:
- A battle of U SPORTS Top 10 teams; Brandon holds the No. 2 ranking, while Calgary is positioned in the No. 4 spot.
- The Dinos and Bobcats both have 9-3 records and are tied for fifth in the Canada West standings. All four teams ahead of them in the standings have played two more games.
- This weekend will be the first meetings between the Dinos and Bobcats since Nov. 18-19, 2016 in Brandon and the first matchup in Calgary since Oct. 23-24, 2015.
CALGARY DINOS: 9-3
- The Dinos have won four straight games in Canada West – all of which were played at home. Calgary is undefeated at the Jack Simpson Gym this season at 6-0.
- Calgary visited Stanford during the holidays, dropping a pair of 3-1 decisions to the NCAA school.
- Alex Bader tops Canada West with a .361 hitting percentage, while Liam Laidlaw ranks first in blocks per set at 1.41.
BRANDON BOBCATS: 9-3
- The Bobcats took part in the Wesmen Classic in Winnipeg during the holidays, winning all five games they played.
- Brandon has won three of their last four games in Canada West action.
- Second-year Libero Bryton Such is the lone Calgarian on the Bobcats roster, which is made up primarily of local talent from Manitoba.
