SASKATOON – The No. 10 ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies held on for a 3-2 (22-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-20, 15-13) victory over the visiting University of Calgary Dinos Friday night on Ron & Jane Graham Court at the PAC.
 
Evenly matched throughout the night, the teams traded the first four sets forcing a deciding game.
 
Saskatchewan was the first two the eight-point court switch after a Daulton Sinoski and Zak Rempel block.  The Huskies grew a three-point lead at 13-10 when Bret Bolin and Alex Cook blocked a Colin Fraser attack. Calgary followed up the play with a Curtis Stockton kill that skimmed the line. Fraser put the Huskies' at match point with a solo block, but Stockton was able to keep the Dinos in the match. Andrew Nelson ended the set with an attack the Dinos couldn't dig up 15-13.
 
With the win, Saskatchewan improves to 10-9 in the Canada West men's volleyball season and keeps pace in the race to the playoffs. Calgary falls to 7-12.
 
Nelson finished the night with a match-high 24 kills, while Tyler Epp added another 13 from the middle and Fraser had 10. Fraser and Troy Wiebe each recorded 10 digs in the match.
 
Stockton led the Dinos with 19 kills and 13 digs, while Alex Bader added another 17 kills.  
 
The two teams will meet again Saturday night at the PAC. First serve is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
