WINNIPEG – The No. 4-ranked Winnipeg Wesmen suffered their first loss of the season to the Calgary Dinos on Friday night.
Calgary ranked 9th in country spoiled the Wesmen's undefeated record with a convincing 3-1 victory (25-22, 15-25, 25-21, 25-20).
Leading the Dinos was fifth-year Alex Bader, who had 12 kills and six digs. With 24 attempts in the match, Bader had hitting percentage of .333. Outside hitter Regan Fathers recorded seven kills, with Liam Taylor and
Calvin Siebert each having 6 kills.
Once again David Bommersbach led the way for the Wesmen with 11 kills and six digs. Third-year player Adrian Dyck had seven kills with Ethan Duncan and Taylor Howe each recording six kills.
Calgary's record with the win goes to 5-2 while the Wesmen record with the loss is 6-1
The rematch goes Saturday night at the Duckworth Centre, starting at 4 p.m. MT on CanadaWest.tv.
