CALGARY – Coming off an impressive opening weekend, the ninth-ranked University of Calgary Dinos men's volleyball team returns to the Jack Simpson Gym for their first conference home games against the No. 3 University of Manitoba Bisons.
Last weekend the Dinos went up against the University of Regina Cougars and earned a pair of straight-set victories.
Tim Taylor's 16 kills propelled the Dinos on the Friday night, while a big effort on Saturday from senior
Alex Bader helped Calgary escape Regina with two wins.
The Dinos hit extremely well as a team during their first set of games, posting a .375 hitting percentage to lead Canada West. Calgary also led the conference last weekend with 15.00 kills per set and 14.17 assists per set.

HEADLINES
- Dinos (2-0) were ranked fifth in the Canada West men's volleyball pre-season coaches poll, while the Bisons (1-1) were ranked ninth.
- The Bisons won both meetings with the Dinos last season, only surrendering one set in the two games at home.
- Calgary went 2-2 on home court during non-conference play. All four of those games took place during the 2017 Dino Cup.
- Manitoba was the top regular season team in Canada West last season, finishing with a 21-3 record before earning a conference silver medal.
