CALGARY – The Crowchild Classic's annual venture to the Scotiabank Saddledome is just one week away.
Next Thursday, Jan. 21, the University of Calgary Dinos will take on the Mount Royal University Cougars in a hockey doubleheader hosted by the Calgary Flames. Puck drop for the women's game is scheduled for 5 p.m., with the men's game following at 7:45.
Admission is free, with tickets available on both campuses as well as through the Flames Ticket Office at (403) 777-4646.
Beginning today, students, staff, and faculty at the University of Calgary can pick up their tickets at Kinesiology Client Services and the Students' Union offices. Ticket distribution will also take place outside the Starbucks on the lower level of MacEwan Student Centre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Monday through Wednesday.
In addition to a ticket, the first 3,000 students to pick up tickets at the Starbucks location will receive a wristband which will qualify them to participate in the in-game contests at the Saddledome, including a chance at free tuition!
Now in its fourth year, the annual Saddledome event has set attendance records in each of its previous three editions. In 2015, 8,882 fans clad in red and blue filled the lower bowl, setting a new Canadian Interuniversity Sport attendance record for a regular season hockey game. This year, the Dinos and Cougars are aiming for 10,000 fans to pack the Scotiabank Saddledome.
RELIVE THE 2015 CROWCHILD CLASSICDinos fans are encouraged to enter the Saddledome via the west entrance (off the +15 from the LRT) and wear red. Sections 109-119 and 213-226 have been set aside for Dinos fans, and the first 1,000 fans at each game will receive awesome swag courtesy of the Dinos and the Students' Union.
Regular parking rates at Stampede Park will be in effect, and the Dinos encourage fans to take public transit.

The 16-game Crowchild Classic series, which pits the Dinos against the Cougars in hockey, soccer, and volleyball, wraps up later this month with a volleyball home-and-home series Jan. 29-30.
