EDMONTON - Lahai Manasary scored two goals in the first half to give the MacEwan University Griffins the 2-1 victory on home turf versus the University of Calgary Dinos.
Griffins' keeper Dylon Powley was named the Player of the Game after making six saves in the match, with several coming from close range.
Dominic Russo scored the lone goal for the Dinos, bringing the visiting team to within one marker, but was unable to complete the comeback.
Next up the Griffins host the Mount Royal Cougars at JP Bowl, while the Dinos head across the river to take on the University of Alberta Golden Bears.
