WINNIPEG - The Manitoba Bisons women's hockey team beat the Calgary Dinos 5–0 at Wayne Fleming Arena for their third straight victory.

With the victory Manitoba sweeps the series against Calgary improving their record to 5–5–0 while the struggling Dinos' record drops to 1–6–2.

"I know three has been done a number of times but four, this might be the first time since I've been here."  said Bisons' head coach John Remple, who is in his 12 year of coaching the Bisons about Venla Hovi's four goal night.

The Bisons opened the scoring the scoring early when forward Venla Hovi scored her first of the game while on the penalty kill. Hovi would keep the ball rolling for the home team when she scored her second of the game six minutes later on a two on one. Near the end of the period the Dinos took a couple of penalties but the Bisons were unable to scored on the two man advantage keeping it a 2–0 game after one.

The game continued to go the home teams way in the second. Bisons forward Courtlyn Oswald scored from an awkward angle making it a 3–0 game. Three minutes later Hovi completed the hat trick while on the power play making it 4–0.

But a hat trick wasn't enough for Hovi. The Finnish import scored her fourth goal of the game less than a minute into the third period. Bisons' netminder Amanda Schubert would complete the shutout making just 14 saves.

After the game the Bisons presented a cheque for $2000 to Cancer Care Manitoba.

"This is the first weekend where we've had a full team since training camp, so that's making a difference," said Remple. "The consistency in the lineup helps and people are starting to get some chemistry and I think that's part of it too."

The Dinos take a rest on bye week next weekend before hosting a home-and-away series with the Alberta Pandas, Nov. 13-14.
